The first step is to deactivate your line on the old device:

- Click the red button that says ” Continue with Google Voice “, then click on the blue link under ” Learn more about transferring your current Cricket number “.
If you have not yet opened an account with Google Voice, you will require to set an instant account now. Follow this link and the instructions for setting up a new GV account using your existing phone number from Cricket Wireless. If you already have a GV number, then move on to Step 6.
The next step is setting up the Google Voice app on your phone if you already have it installed. The below steps are for Android phones unless otherwise indicated in parenthesis.

You will be prompted to sign in to your existing Google account during this process if you have not created a GV number yet. After installing the app, you will be prompted to enter a 1-time six-digit code that is sent via SMS to your phone number (you may also get this via email depending on your notification settings). Input the six-digit code and agree on ” Confirm “. (If you cannot find the code, then it is most likely because your phone has a lock screen set up. Simply unlock your phone for this process)
